7 Speedy Workouts You Can Do Before Breakfast

One major benefit of working out in the morning is that you can cross “do fitness stuff” off your to-do list before you even check your email. (Seriously, don’t check it in bed.) That way you won’t have to stress about sneaking out of work in time to make an evening boot camp class, and you can grab drinks with your friends when that invite rolls in after lunch.

The challenge? Actually getting up in time to, y’know, do it. Fitting in a morning workout doesn’t have to mean setting your alarm a full hour earlier—here are seven routines that are all under 10 minutes. That’s just enough time for your curling iron to heat up and for your steel-cut oats to cook.

1. Wake up—and fast—with this high-energy plyometric workout.

This explosive, fat-burning 10-minute workout includes lots of jumping exercises—beware, it’s tough. But it totally bests java when it comes to getting you energized for your day.

2. Or, for a more gentle start to your day, this yoga flow is the way to go.

This routine incorporates moves like burpees and mountain climbers for a full-body burn in just eight minutes.

This is the perfect cross-training workout to improve lower-body strength and to increase mobility in your hips and ankles. And even if you’re not a runner, it’s still a great way to sweat.
